About

Why HTDD exists, what we believe, and how the methodology came to be.

The Problem We're Addressing

Across industries, we see products that are technically sophisticated but fundamentally disconnected from human needs. Teams build features based on assumptions, competitive pressure, or technological trends. When products fail, nobody can explain why—the connection between strategy and human reality is broken.

Meanwhile, good design instincts exist everywhere. Product teams, researchers, and designers often *know* what users need. But that knowledge rarely becomes a formal, traceable part of how decisions are made. It stays in people's heads, in Slack conversations, or in research reports that nobody revisits.

This gap creates a fundamental problem: There's no reliable way to connect human understanding to technology. Every decision becomes a debate. Every product direction feels arbitrary. Teams can't confidently say why they built something—they just know it seemed right at the time.

Our Vision

We believe technology should emerge from genuine understanding of people. Not from guessing. Not from trends. Not from what competitors are doing.

HTDD establishes a clear, traceable path from human truth to technology. It makes the invisible reasoning visible. It lets teams say with confidence: "We built this because we understand that people need X, and this design principle emerged from that truth."

We envision a world where design and technology are grounded in human reality. Where products age gracefully because they're built on timeless human truths, not temporary trends. Where teams move with confidence because they can see the lineage from research to decision.

Our Approach

HTDD is Free

The methodology is freely accessible. We want the framework to be adopted broadly, to become standard practice in how organizations think about design and technology.

HTDD Core is Commercial

For organizations that want to operationalize the methodology at scale, HTDD Core provides the infrastructure—evidence management, principle governance, decision traceability. This is where we build a sustainable business.

This Stays Honest

HTDD is not a silver bullet. It won't fix bad leadership, broken processes, or teams that don't listen to users. It's a framework for teams that are serious about grounding decisions in human understanding.

A Note on This Site

Some content on this site is intentionally marked as placeholder or under development. We're building HTDD in the open. You're seeing the methodology and platform emerge. Some sections contain "TODO" markers where founder-approved content is required. We believe in transparency over polish.
